CoE HELP/EJTN Seminar:Judges Upholding the Rule of Law, Strasbourg, 17-18 December 2024

Returning to Strasbourg for a great training and a lively discussion with judges, prosecutors and other legal professionals from different CoE member states. High-level speeches by Daniel Schmidt (CEPEJ), Raffaele Sabato (Judge at the ECtHR) and Goran Selanec (Constitutional Court of Croatia) related to the challenges today's judges are confronted with in their daily business and possible solutions. Our friend and colleague Oana Gîrlescu (CoE HELP Project Coordinator) prepared us perfectly for one of the highlights of the seminar: The Grand Chamber hearing in the case Danileţ v. Romania (no. 16915/21) concerning the freedom of expression of a Romanian judge disciplinarily sanctioned for posting two messages on his Facebook account. We are eagerly awaiting the judgment!
